After 32 years of operating at the same location in Christchurch, the time has come for the Norwood team to relocate to a new dealership that has the space and resources to best serve their customers. In August 2017 the project to move the Christchurch Norwood dealership to a larger site began and in June 2018, the new dealership located on Hasketts Road was officially opened.
“We’ve got 27 staff working out of here, the majority of those are in our service department, and that’s where our focus is. If we’re not servicing our product, we’re not doing it justice. The space we now have in the workshop is immense, which makes it a lot more user-friendly” said Dealer Principal Mark Simmons.
The dealership hosted an opening event on the 8th of June. The event started off with a family Fun Day and continued into the night with an evening function. Long-standing Norwood customer Brian Murray, of Brian Murray Contracting, cut the ribbon officially opening the new store.
Inspirational mountaineer Mark Inglis presented to the crowd of over 300, discussing what it takes to really push yourself and achieve any goal you set your mind to. Norwood CEO Tim Myers discussed the importance of the new flagship dealership and thanked the many customers in the room for their continued support.
Dealer Principal Mark Simmons said while he is sad to leave the old dealership which was filled with legacy and many fond memories, he is excited about the opportunities ahead with their new dealership. “2018 marks 70 years of Norwood servicing customers throughout the country so it was fantastic to be able to open the new dealership the same year. 70 years is something not too many other farm machinery companies can add to their CV, and that goes to show that Norwood is here to stay”.
