NORWOOD SUPPLY CHAIN UPDATE

As Kiwis begin to feel more confident looking a little further into the future, we want to offer our customers some certainty regarding the availability of farm machinery and parts in the second half of the year.

Norwood are well stocked in both parts and machinery, our supply chain is strong with minimal supply chain disruption expected as we head into the busy spring season, and our national distribution channels are fully operational.

Rest assured, you can continue to rely on Norwood to keep farmers moving.

Customer access to stock across the country

Norwood’s nationwide coverage (which includes 22 dealerships and service centres, assembly and distribution centres in the North and South Islands, and New Zealand’s largest agricultural parts warehouse) puts us in the best position possible to offer quality support to farmers and growers.

When our customers need an immediate solution, we have a nationwide network to draw on for new and used machinery, parts and industry or product expertise. 

Our nationwide machine bank also provides added back-up parts support, with the ability use ‘donor’ machines for parts supply where there is a critical need.

Spring orders placed

Machinery has been ordered and committed for build as to our usual schedule leading into spring. We anticipate some slight delays to some products caused by freight and import changes, and limited cases of component supply disruption. Where delays do come about, we anticipate these will only be a matter of weeks.

Exchange rate forward cover

Norwood’s exchange rate forward cover will ensure pricing stability over the coming months. Stock that is on its way to us was purchased early in the year at a good exchange rate so customers can have confidence that machinery arriving in spring will be competitively priced.

Continued production from all major international suppliers

The bulk of our international suppliers have continued working through the past two months, and those that have temporarily suspended operations are expected to resume within the next 2-3 weeks.

Most of our suppliers are working to the schedule in place prior to lockdown, and we are currently unaware of any suppliers who anticipate long-term production shut downs.

Regional support fleets

Norwood are gearing up to introduce regionally located support fleets that will give customers added certainty around the availability of machinery when immediate back-up support is needed.

Customers can expect to hear more about this new support fleet before spring.

National parts warehouses and transport providers are fully operational

All of Norwood’s national transport providers are operating and able to support the flow of goods.

Our national parts warehouses continue to provide 24/7 support, giving farmers and growers overnight access to more than $28m worth of agricultural parts right here in New Zealand.

 

 

We have healthy stock levels and a strong supply chain, but there are still plenty of new influencing factors that both Norwood and our customers will be experiencing.
