Norwood will be giving away $10,000 to local community groups in a nationwide competition, as a part of their 70 years of business celebration.
“Norwood has been proudly local since our establishment in 1948, and we love being involved with New Zealand communities,” says Norwood CEO Tim Myers. “This competition is a chance for us to give back to those communities and thank them for letting us be a part of their lives.”
Entry into Norwood’s Great Giveaway is open to any not-for-profit or community group - applicants just have to send in a short video (up to one and a half minutes) to firstname.lastname@example.org and explain who they are, what their group does and how they’d use the money. Norwood will then select three finalists for the public to vote on with $7,000 for first place, $2,000 for second and $1,000 for the third place finalist.
“We want to make sure that it isn’t just a win for one group - there are so many worthwhile charities and community groups working to make a difference. This is simply our way of supporting those groups. And of course it will be great to share their stories and give them the attention they deserve.”
Competition applications open from 1st September and run until 28th September. In October the public can vote through Norwood’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/NorwoodFarmMachineryCentre for their favourite group, with the winner announced 1st November.
“We’re really excited and can’t wait to hear from amazing people all around the country.”
