Stephen Killgour, IS Business Systems Team Leader
Steve’s career journey at Norwood began in 2004 when he joined the wholesale parts support team at the Palmerston North office. Since then, he has changed roles five times and is now our business systems team leader working in our information services department.
Steve’s many roles within Norwood have given him a great understanding of the entire business and have enabled him to find a career he is passionate about. “Throughout my time at Norwood, I have changed roles within the company numerous times. The business has always been very forthcoming with providing training and support to allow me to further my skills and knowledge in these areas”.
The ability to move within the company and progress is one of the main reasons Steve has stayed with the company for more than 13 years. “Norwood has offered me many opportunities to progress in my career. I’ve found that if you’re hard-working, eager to learn and keen to develop your skills then the business is very supportive when it comes to career progression”.
“I have always had the chance to talk openly with both my past and present managers about my career path and what I need to do to achieve my goals. I’ve been on lots of training and development courses all designed with that in mind”.
The ability to self-manage a majority of his work is one of the things Steve enjoys most about his role at Norwood. In addition to this, his current role allows him to engage with almost every area of the business which means no two days are ever the same.
When asked what advice he would give someone thinking about applying for a job at Norwood, Steve states “there are so many opportunities to progress your career within the company; this makes Norwood a great place to work if you are interested in career progression”.
