Norwood sponsors Philips Search and Rescue Trust Greenlea Rescue Helicopter

When you're stuck in the worst kind of trouble in a remote or hard-to-reach place, there's no more comforting sound than a rescue chopper in the air above you.

On Saturday, we attended the unveiling of the H145 Greenlea Rescue Helicopter as part of our sponsorship of the Philips Rescue Trust.

Serving the Central Plateau and Lakes District, the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter operates 24/7, 365 days a year, providing expert care directly to patients in those out of the way places where many of our customers work on the daily.

The rescue helicopter in this area has flown 8,347 missions since 1995 and completed 534 missions on 2024 - each one free of charge, thanks to the ongoing generosity of supporters and donors. Norwood Taupō support the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter with a Kubota B3150 to pull it in and out of the hangar.

We’re proud to see this state-of-the-art aircraft ready - even prouder to see our name on it - but that pride doesn't get close to the feeling we get knowing we're part of a team helping others on what may be one of their worst days.

It was a privilege to see the H145 rescue helicopter last weekend.
