Exclusive distributorship deal for Norwood and SKY Agriculture

Norwood is announcing today it has signed an exclusive New Zealand distribution agreement with the Burel Group for the SKY Agriculture brand.

The freshly signed agreement is effective immediately and is an extension of the existing relationship Norwood has with the Burel Group – a relationship that will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2024.

SKY Agriculture is more than a name change. The Burel Group has consolidated its Sulky, Sky, and Prolog retail brands in a considered single brand strategy with a new look and feel.

"We're excited to be a part of the strategic work the Burel Group has done to consolidate their existing brand portfolio under the SKY Agriculture marque, and we’re looking forward to being able to offer the extended product range to New Zealand farmers and growers,” says Aaron Smith, Norwood Chief Executive Officer.

This new partnership will mean Norwood has continued access to the traditional fertiliser spreader range (previously marketed under the Sulky brand) and the range of seeding products, previously imported under the Sky brand through a different New Zealand distributor.

“Our family group is delighted to finalise this agreement with Norwood, marking the continuation of our 30-year partnership. We are confident that the combined efforts of both teams will propel the SKY brand to new heights in New Zealand, while also providing great support to farmers across the country. We extend our sincere appreciation to Tulloch Farm Machinery for their dedication in promoting the EasyDrill over the years,” says Serge Suffissais, Burel Group Business Manager.

“The Sky brand, with fantastic products like the EasyDrill direct drill, is already well known in the market thanks to the great work done by the previous distributor, Tulloch Farm Machinery. We thank John and his team for developing the Sky brand in New Zealand and we’re keen to build on this success in the future under the newly consolidated SKY Agriculture brand name,” says Rod Gardner, Norwood National Product Manager.

The refreshed SKY Agriculture brand will see a change in livery across all products. Sulky’s traditional pale blue and red colour scheme will be replaced with two-tone grey and sport the new SKY Agriculture badge.

Norwood will supply SKY Agriculture products across its 19 locations throughout New Zealand.
